Nearly two weeks had passed; Jordan had finally returned to school the Friday previous in hopes of keeping himself distracted and out of Jesse’s house, though school seemed to have little impact on him these days. Jace had eagerly told everyone the day after talking to Elijah about his brother’s involvement in TerraLuna, and it seemed to spark a renewed drive in the Alliance; now they had an in.

They were to leave for Manhattan the Friday after Thanksgiving, which proved to be a sore spot for everyone’s parents, Jesse and Eric’s parents particularly.

“Ugh, my head…” Eric sat up slowly, feeling like there was a jackhammer wreaking havoc against the inside of his skull. “What the…what happened?”

“Kailen happened,” came Jordan’s reply from somewhere above him, and Eric warily looked up. Eric was surprised to see Jordan looked a little better than he had seen him since that Saturday night. “Sorry, my brother’s a little paranoid, having just escaped and all.”
