Life is Busy/Call to Beta-Readers/Nanowrimo

Sat Oct 31, 2009, 9:51 AM
HolycrapI'vebeensobusythesepastfewweeksIhaven'tevenbeenabletomakeajournalpostabouthowb usyI'vebeen.

SO. Would any of my kind watchers/friends like to help a fellow writer out with Beta-ing their story? :iconhula-crazy: is looking for someone (or someones) to help her out by reading her story and looking for any plotholes/offering critiques/the usual stuff. It's not online yet, so she'll send it to you via email if you're interested; just send her a note! :D

In other news, remember when I had, like, no job? Now I have two. One is a temp-to-hire position that I sure hopes turns to "hire" that'll be five days a week, 8-5, and the second is seasonal, on weekends and evenings. Needless to say, I'm probably going to be very tired and very absent from the internet for a little bit (plus I'm trying to knit two scarves by Christmas, so my hands are usually tied up...lol, sorta-punny). This would also explain why if you left me a comment in the last few weeks, and I still haven't responded back to it, it's because I've been running around like a chicken with my head cut off. Apologies.

Speaking of being busy, some of my friends of Facebook have decided to do a writing game/activity in honor of NanoWriMo, and I still haven't started yet. Mostly because I was thinking of doing my own thing for Nanowrimo, but in reality I haven't written anything in weeks. It's very sad. I am bursting with creative juices (sounds gross) with no time to be...er...juiced? This is getting weird.

Finally, Happy Halloween! I've never been so happy to just stay home and give out candy to trick-or-treaters. Five years of Halloween in Isla Vista will do that to you.

  • Reading: Ghost stories

Random question that has absolutely nothing to do with your art (despite its awesomeness and such): do you watch Glee by any chance?

:iconempressfunk:
YES I DO AND I LOVE IT.

Why do you ask?

“It's like we've been living in the Matrix. I mean, we sat here for years believing our own version of reality and then Jordan comes in like a big, freaky red pill and next thing you know we're waking up in a vat of goo."

"...What?"
:iconlittleknownbside:
I dunno. I just kinda had the impression it would be something you'd like?

And sheer curiousity, mostly.

:iconempressfunk:
WELL, YOU WERE RIGHT! I seem to type in caps to express my excitement, sorry.

GOD I'M GOOD AT THIS GAME!

Nah, it's fine. I seem to do it too. Oh, you should have seen the day I remembered how to knit...

So what are your thoughts on NaNoWriMo 2009? :P

--
I want to mix our blood and put it in the ground so you can never leave.
:iconempressfunk:
OH SHIT. My thoughts are "Thank you for reminding me, I totally forgot!"

There's actually a couple of story ideas that have been running through my head lately--this'll finally give me an excuse to actually write them.

What about you?

:iconsilamai:
I'm definitely doing it this year. I was unsure whether I wanted to work on an Urban Fantasy involving werewolves, attempt to crack into the Steampunk genre, or write a weird story about trying to be a ghost. I finally decided to go with the latter.

Your characters are so original and cute, I don't have time to read your story just now but I'm going to~!
:iconempressfunk:
Well, thanks very much! I hope that you do. :D
